manila reunion 2006 - a success

Dear Batchmates,

Our November 24 gathering was a smashing success! A total of 49 batchmates, the biggest gathering of Class of 1984 thus far, attended the gathering!

Unang-una, maraming salamat po sa lahat ng dumalo. It was really great to see everybody. Some of our batchmates last saw each other during our graduation ceremony in March 25, 1984. Our attendance sheet will be posted shortly.

This is truly a dry run for January 20, 2007, the Grand Alumni Homecoming. We also anticipate more batchmates on that day as some of the regular attendees in our annual Novemeber gathering were unable to attend as they were out of town.

Attendees also received their official Class of 1984 Shirt. Ang ganda talaga ng design na ginawa ni Joey Manalang.

For our US, Canada, Australia (et al) -based batchmates, ready na po ang Shirts ninyo. We do need suggestions on how best (and most cost efficient) to send it to you. Please email your size (L or XL) so we can make the proper allocation.

An idea was floated of making sizes for women and children. Rest assured, we will endeavor to realize this great idea.

The Batch also agreed to hold our 2nd Family Day on April 22, 2007.
Venue will be at the campus. We will begin with a Mass (officiated of course by our batchmates Fr. Vester Casaclang and Fr. John Cordero). As usual, we can use the pool, basketball and badminton courts but we will try to make the day more interesting by playing the games we used to play like holen, trumpo, patin-tero and cops and robbers.

We shall also continue holding our monthly meeting (every 2nd Tuesday of the month) to fine-tune our plans for 2009. The meeting for December 12 is special as our batchmate Val Villafuerte (now with GMA 7) will attend and discuss proposed plans for fund generating activities such as a concert and/or movie premiere. Val was overflowing with ideas last Friday and just had to ask him to join us on the next monthly meeting. With all the beer flowing last
Friday, he was talking faster than we can absorb.

Of course, more ideas and suggestions are needed from you Batchmate. Val's ideas are just examples of fresh input we direly need. Kaya natin basta sama-sama.

Byron Bautista and Randy Estacio have volunteered to chair our basketball committee. Once a month, they will schedule games for our batch (half-court lang muna please at hindi na tayo spring chicken) at the campus. Abangan po natin ang sked.

Tunay na nagsimula na po tayo on the road to 2009! With the promising attendance this year, we can safely target 100 attendees in November 2008! Lets keep the ball rolling!

Go Class of 1984!

Yours in Don Bosco,

Boks

P.S.

Sa ating mga non Manila based batcchmates, pasensya na po at hindi
on-line yung gathering. We experienced technical difficulties.
